Yes, you need tire insurance! You can’t always control what happens to your tires while you’re driving, but you can control what happens after. It will save you a lot of money in the long run! So focus on what you can control, like making sure you’re covered so you can have some peace of mind when going for a drive. A tire protection plan will not only cover tire and wheel damages, but in most cases, it also covers wheel replacement.

What is Covered with Tire Insurance?

what's covered with tire insurance?

Through tire protection, all of your tires will be included in your coverage. If a tire gets damaged while driving over things such as nails, broken glass, tree limbs, potholes, rocks, you don’t have to worry; these kinds of problems are protected with tire and rim insurance. You won’t have to worry if your flat tire needs to be repaired or replaced at a certified Toyota service center.

These examples are eligible road hazards and apply to all objects or conditions not typically found on the roadway. If your tire does not hold air anymore because the damage is too significant, they will replace it with a new one. Toyota tire insurance will also help cover towing up to $100 per occurrence with no limit to the number of covered structural damage claims.

The only exception to road hazards covered by tire and wheel insurance is construction sites/zones. Outside of road hazards, normal wear and tear on your tires that can cause wheel damage over time will not be covered by your Toyota tire insurance, as well as any acts of vandalism. To go along with normal wear and tear, if the tread on your tires has 3/32 inch tread depth when damage occurs, it will not be covered by your tire and wheel insurance. Keep an eye on the condition of your tires and replace them when they’ve worn down naturally through continued driving, and this problem can easily be avoided.

Disclaimer

T&W protection covers damage caused by conditions defined as eligible road hazards which affect the performance of the tires/wheels as a result of the tire failing to hold air, or the wheel failing to seal with the new tire; such failures may prevent the maintenance of the manufacturer’s air pressure specifications. Note: Road Hazards are commonly defined as debris on a public roadway such as nails, glass, potholes, rocks, tree limbs or other objects or conditions not normally found in the roadway.

Tire & Wheel Protection Platinum is not available in all states.

Not all dents and dings can be repaired by the paintless dent repair process. Product covers the removal of dents and dings located in accessible areas on the vehicle that are no larger than four inches in diameter and the repair will not affect the manufacturer’s paint or finish. Hail damage is covered up to the dollar value of the comprehensive damage deductible or $1,000, whichever is less. Paintless Dent Repair hail damage coverage is not available in all states.

Excludes stress cracks or cracks over six (6) inches, damage to the inside of the windshield, and damage to windshield caused by hail, vandalism or neglect. Program may not be available in all states. Ask your dealer or see agreement for complete coverage terms and conditions. See participating dealer for details.

Windshield repair covers damage caused by conditions defined as a road hazard including wood debris, metal parts, plastic, composite scraps or other propelled objects.

This is an example of coverage. See agreement for complete terms and conditions. Replacement costs are estimates based on claim data from 2015-2016 and manufacturer’s suggested retail prices for a 2015 Toyota Camry.
